WHAT IS THE MNVOICES AGGREGATE FEED?

In early April 2009, I participated in the Minnesota Voices Online UnConference. It was a gathering of area non-profits (mostly) discussing connecting to their audiences via New Media and related issues.

Most of the organizations participating had some sort of New Media presence – blogs, podcasts, whatever – by nature scattered across the Internet. And I wanted to get it all together, both to allow folks to see each other's content, and to demonstrate that I can do this sort of thing quickly and effectively, with the tools I already have at hand. The aggregate includes every blog I found from the UnConference participants list, on whatever topic. Most are related to local Minnesota community activities.

The core of MNVoices is an aggregate RSS feed I created with Yahoo Pipes. It works from a CSV (Comma Separated Values) list of podcasts and their RSS feed addresses. The pipe looks through the list of podcast feeds, selects only the latest show from each feed, and produces one combined feed including only those, latest shows.

The feed provides the full entry, with one small edit to the title, to indicate which podcast that entry came from. The MNVoices Blogroll includes a list of all the blogs and the subscription links for all of them, too. If you're interested in only a couple, can go to the Blogroll and subscribe separately.

Clean, simple, easy to maintain, easy to subscribe. The subscription address is http://feeds2.feedburner.com/mnvoices. Just put that where you put feed addresses in your blogreader. Nothing else needed.

If you want to subscribe to the MNVoices Aggregate Feed, click on the links above. If you want to listen and see if you like my choices, click on the yellow button below. That's all there is.

Interesting idea, huh?
